Welcome to the North Carolina Museum of Art. What once was a small museum is now ranked as one of the top 25 museums in the country. You’ll have plenty to explore across the 164 acres and two buildings. After you spend time viewing the wide variety of art pieces inside the museum, make sure to explore the park for additional pieces. If it’s a nice day, you’ll find plenty of people having picnics out on the lawn and enjoying the sunshine.

What started as a small museum with 75 paintings is now ranked one of the top 25 museums in the country spanning across 164 acres and two buildings. Step into the West Building which holds the permanent collection of artwork and then head over to the East Building which showcases the rotating exhibits and offers educational programming. You’ll find artwork that ranges from Greek sculptures to contemporary photographs within the walls of this building.
