Welcome to the North Carolina State Fairgrounds! The most well known event that occurs here is the highly anticipated NC State Fair held every October which started in 1853 by the State Agricultural Society. The Fairgrounds hosts more than 500 events a year in their eight facilities on the grounds, including the Commercial and Education Buildings, as well as Dorton Arena. No matter the time of year, you’ll always find an event to explore at this historic site.
The North Carolina State Fairgrounds hosts a whopping more than 500 events a year including the nationally known North Carolina State Fair. The State Fair hosts musical guests and performances, hundreds of food vendors and art exhibits. The eight facilities that encompass the fairgrounds house the state’s largest indoor/outdoor flea market, the Hunt Horse Complex and Dorton Arena.
