Step onto the property of NC State’s vet school and you’ll be greeted with Hannah, a Newfoundland dog. This bronze structure weighs in at 1,200 pounds and is a testament to the strength of both dogs and the vet school. Hannah’s faulty heart valve gave her an estimated five more months of life - with the vet school’s help, she lived five more years beyond her surgery here. Hannah’s ashes lie beneath her statue.
