Wolfpack Turf

Snap a picture next to this piece of art and you’ll capture one of the most iconic NC State landmarks. Wolfpack Turf, created from stone and bronze, sculpture sits in front of the Wendell H. Murphy Football Center ready to guard its territory. This monument stands 28 feet tall and showcases six wolves, each said to embody the characteristics of NC State athletes - passion, spirit, courage, pride and strength. It was created by alumnus, Dick Idol, and dedicated in 2002.
